Description

Scratch-made alfredo sauce is super easy to make and requires only 7 (staple) ingredients. I think pre-made and store-bought sauces should be illegal and after trying this recipe, I know you’ll agree!

Ingredients

Scale

8 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon garlic, minced

3 cups heavy cream

1 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter over medium heat in a medium-sized saucepan.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for about a minute.
  3. Slowly add the flour and stir continuously until all of the flour is dissolved (1-2 minutes).
  4. Slowly add the heavy cream (about 1/4 cup at a time) and stir continuously.
  5. Once the sauce starts to bubble, continue to stir and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese.
  7. Use the sauce right away. The longer it sits, the thicker it will become.
  8. Pair with your favorite pasta and enjoy those flavors!
