Description
Scratch-made alfredo sauce is super easy to make and requires only 7 (staple) ingredients. I think pre-made and store-bought sauces should be illegal and after trying this recipe, I know you’ll agree!
Ingredients
Scale
8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
3 cups heavy cream
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter over medium heat in a medium-sized saucepan.
- Add the garlic and cook for about a minute.
- Slowly add the flour and stir continuously until all of the flour is dissolved (1-2 minutes).
- Slowly add the heavy cream (about 1/4 cup at a time) and stir continuously.
- Once the sauce starts to bubble, continue to stir and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese.
- Use the sauce right away. The longer it sits, the thicker it will become.
- Pair with your favorite pasta and enjoy those flavors!
