- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chicken soup base
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water together to make a slurry, and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, chicken base, and a pinch of pepper to the saucepan and whisk together so that all ingredients are dissolved.
- Allow the gravy to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, whisk in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the gravy and continue to simmer for 10 more minutes.
- Add salt to taste.
